Procedures and precautions to reduce the spread.
ALL clients, new and existing will be screened at least 12 hours prior to the appointment.
*Have you recently traveled out of the country?
*Have you come in contact with anyone confirmed with or suspected of COVID-19?
*Do you, OR anyone in your house have the following primary symptoms:
Runny nose, Fever, Sore Throat, Coughing or Shortness of Breath?
*Do you, OR anyone in your house have the following secondary symptoms:
new/unknown cause of stuffy nose, or headache
Gastrointestinal symptoms, chills, muscle/joint pain,
loss of sense of smell or taste?
If you answer YES to any of these we will need to reschedule your appointment. Please keep in mind that I will be entering your home so if ANYONE in the household is not feeling well I need to reschedule.
Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
As per the Alberta Health Services guidelines, as well as NHPC (my professional association) masks are required during treatment by both therapist and client. AHS has however stated that "If a client has difficulty breathing while face-down during massage treatment, their mask may be removed. Once the massage is complete, or once the client moves to a faceup position, the client should wash their hands and put on a mask." -https://www.alberta.ca/assets/documents/covid-19-relaunch-guidance-wellness-services.pdf
Cleaning protocols for mobile massage:
**I will be wearing a mask before I get to the door, and will apply hand sanitizer when I enter the building.
**The table will be set up with clean linens, and while you are getting on the table I will wash my hands.
**After the Massage treatment I will wash my hands, pack up all the linens used and place inside a pillowcase to be washed immediately.
**Payment/Direct billing will be done once I have left the residence.
**The table, face cradle, pillow, stool and any other cushions will be sprayed with a heavy duty disinfectant and wiped once I get to my car. Used linens will be placed in the laundry bag. Lotion/Oil bottles will be put in bag to be cleaned. Mask will be removed using AHS protocols and disposed of in a sealed bag in the vehicle.
Other things to note:
Linens are washed on HOT with bleach.
Each set of linens in stored in its own pillowcase prior to treatment, after they are removed from the table they are put back into that pillowcase to act as a mini laundry bag. The linens are kept separate in my car (clean from used) and go straight into the wash when I get home.
If you have any questions about my procedures, or something I may have missed please reach out to me!
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these changes together.
Sincerely,
Ayla Ginther RMT
